By:Ranjit Dhamala
Kathmandu, 1 Phagun . Nepal Communist Party (NCP)’s chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the remaining task of party unification will be completed within a next few days.
In his address to a programme organised today to pay tributes to all those who attained martyrdom during the course of the people’s movement and people’s war at the Dhumbarahi-based party headquarters, leader Dahal said this. “We are working with an aim of concluding the unification process very soon,” he said, seeking the efforts from all party leaders and cadres to complete it successfully.
It may be noted that the then CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Center decided to unite last February to form the NCP.
The former Prime Minister took a time to call on the Communist parties at home who stay away from the unification process to join it. He also called on the Nepali Congress and Madhes-based parties for cooperation in the agenda of national development and prosperity, describing them as the aspirations of Nepali people.
The big political achievements in the country were possible just due to our collective efforts, he said, highlighting the need of same culture in the current agenda of the government.
As he said, he sees no other alternative to the present time to leading the country towards a better path of development, socialism and social justice and the same path would take us towards our goal and then dreams of our martyrs will come true.
“Though Nepal is lagging behind in terms of development, its political achievements have drawn the global attention,” the former Prime Minister said.
Besides Dahal, NCP general secretary Bishnu Poudel, standing committee member Subash Chandra Nembang and leader Bhim Rawal paid tributes to martyrs.
